Shrink-wrap is a very useful material for packaging and protecting all kinds of different products and materials at various stages of the production process. However, after it has been used, it is usually discarded as waste, increasing the strain on landfills. As one of the America's largest manufacturers, we get through a large amount of shrink-wrap every year. But instead of just discarding our used shrink-wrap and adding it to landfills, we have found creative ways to recycle it. We recycle shrink-wrap at our various Mohawk recycling centers and also include it as a key ingredient in the carpet cores that we manufacture. Not only are we keeping shrink wrap out of landfills, but we have turned it into a useful and valuable asset. What was once used to protect the outside of a product is now being used to enhance its interior material make up.
