The impact of tires on our environment

Old tires are one of the worst sources of waste for our environment. They are among the largest items regularly discarded and and often have higher disposal fees associated with them. Since they often hold water, they also create environments for disease-spreading insects to breed. Tires are also one of the most resource-hungry products to manufacture. It takes 2,072 gallons of water and 88 gallons of crude oil just to make four new tires. At Mohawk, we are significantly reducing the impact of tires on our environment everyday.
