It's a new kind of sample book that allows us to use 63% less virgin raw material than traditional carpet samples – all, without sacrificing quality or usability.

SMART stands for Sustainable Materials and Responsible Technologies. It's a major new initiative to save energy and raw materials. In addition to using 63% less petrochemicals, SMART Book weighs 50% less. It also contains a high level of post consumer recycled content and is recyclable. These factors result in all kinds of environmental benefits, from saving on fuel consumption for freight to reducing the amount of carpet waste in landfills. Being that we produce several hundred thousand folders on an annual basis, the energy savings can be significant.
