Unable to combine high-traffic strength with easy installation, traditional carpet adhesives can present a plethora of installation challenges. In partnership with Para Chem, The Mohawk Group offers NuSpraylok Flooring Adhesive Spray System, a breakthrough in innovative adhesive technology. Eliminating many of the persistent installation problems of the past and offering a single source premium adhesive, this installation system lays down a method for installing cushioned urethane and Encycle hard back carpet tiles, the company's revolutionary, patent-pending thermoplastic modular carpet backing system, and VCT and other flooring manufactured or sold by The Mohawk Group.

The NuSpraylok adhesive promises superior performance and effectiveness where there are high levels of moisture vapor emissions and alkalinity. It is backed by a warranty for up to 7 pounds of vapor emission as calculated by the calcium chloride test method and a 10 pH level.

Historically, most flooring adhesives cannot withstand these conditions, but NuSpraylok has been engineered to overcome these problematic issues, making it universally applicable no matter the geographic area or locale.

Affixing Ergonomics to Efficiency

Rendering the laborious trowel application a thing of the past, NuSpraylok is sprayed onto subfloors utilizing a patented bubble technology. It is available in a 22-ounce aerosol can for closed-in areas, as well as in a 28-pound cylinder, recommended for open areas. Installers wear a specially designed backpack to carry the completely self-contained system, without dragging around electric cords or air hoses. And because installers apply the adhesive while standing, NuSpraylok eliminates application time spent kneeling, reducing installer fatigue and increasing productivity.

Additionally, by eliminating the set up required of most adhesives, NuSpraylok significantly cuts down on installation time. In fact, installation time can be reduced by as much as 30 to 40 percent depending on job site conditions, temperature and humidity.

NuSpraylok has been formulated to adhere over subfloors composed of any number of materials, such as plywood of under-layment quality, marble terrazzo, sound-resilient floors free of wax and embossing, metal, and on above- or below-grade concrete floors.
