Product Certification

Because we're so committed to sustainability, we are doing everything we can to meet or exceed our industry's many certification standards. We believe that third party certification is the best method for insuring the accuracy of environmental statements. Here are some of the certifications and standards we are proud to represent.

• CRI Green Label Plus – This highly respected certification by the Carpet and Rug Institute involves rigorous testing to measure level of volatile organic compound (VOCs) emissions. Lower emissions mean higher indoor air quality. All of our products have achieved this certification.
• NSF 140 – This national environmental standard, recently developed through a consensus process representing stakeholders from industry, academia, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), states, and end-users, is the most stringent multi-attribute environmental standard in the nation. We are proud of the fact that we had a hand in developing such an important standard. It is a fully recognized ANSI Standard for carpet.
• LEED Points – LEED stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design. It's a voluntary, consensus-based, national standard for developing high performance, sustainable buildings. Mohawk was involved with the setting of these standards.
• Third Party Certification – We work hard to back up our sustainability claims by seeking out third party verification, e.g. Scientific Certification Systems (SCS).
• SCS – Scientific Certification Systems has long been one of the most highly respected name in testing and certification. We have undergone numerous audits by this organization and, as a result, have been awarded many certifications.
