LEED Points
Leading the way to greater sustainability
The easiest way to identify the best built buildings
The U.S. Green Building Council's "LEED" (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) program is a voluntary, consensus-based national standard for developing high performance, sustainable buildings. As one of the most respected and widely recognized sustainability standards in the building industry, it provides a complete framework for assessing building performance and meeting sustainability goals. We know, because we helped develop it.
An honest assessment
The U.S. Green Building Council is the industry's only balanced, non-profit, consensus coalition promoting the understanding, development, and accelerated implementation of green building policies. As a member of this council, we were involved in the development of the LEED Green Building Rating System and continue to contribute to its evolution, along with other leading companies in various segments of the building industry.
An all-inclusive approach
LEED is designed to provide a complete, holistic assessment of the sustainability of a building. It is based on five key areas of human and environmental health: sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection, and indoor environmental quality. LEED standards are currently available for: LEED for New Construction; LEED for Commercial Interiors; LEED for Existing Buildings; LEED for Core & Shell; LEED for Homes; LEED for Neighborhood Development. Many of our products contribute points toward these various LEED rating systems.
