Antron
Environmentally-preferred fibers with superior performance
The only EPP face fiber in the industry
Antron® nylon is the first and only carpet fiber to be certified by an independent third party as an Environmentally Preferable Product. Environmentally Preferable Product certification takes key factors into consideration to identify products that have a lesser or reduced effect on human health and the environment when compared to other products that serve the same purpose. Many Antron products also contain recycled content - some with up to 90% pre-consumer recycled content. Widely recognized as a performance leader for over 30 years, Antron fiber is well known for its superior soil resistance, wear resistance, and pile height retention. These are the very same qualities that make it such an excellent choice for the environment.
High performance to reduce waste
Made with Type 6,6 nylon, Antron is engineered to resist crushing, matting, and abrasive wear. Carpets made with Antron Type 6,6 nylon have a 20% higher resistance and 12% harder fiber surface than other nylon fibers. Its hollow filament fibers hide soil and minimize the damage soil can do to a carpet. That's why carpet made with Antron fiber is so easy to clean and keep looking new. All of these long-lasting performance characteristics combine to keep Antron fibers on the floor longer and out of the landfill- reducing waste in our environment. By combining Antron with Mohawk's proprietary stain resistant technologies, its excellent performance qualities can be enhanced even more.
From carpet to carpet
When carpet made with Antron fibers reaches the end of its long life, we can reclaim it through our ReCover program and recycle it-keeping it out of the landfill. Environmentally-friendly without sacrificing quality or aesthetics, Antron truly is a superior product that we're proud to use in Mohawk carpets.
