Five times more resistant to fading

Colorstrand Solution Dyed Nylon is a premium branded 100% solution dyed Type 6 nylon fiber that is five times more resistant to fading than conventionally dyed nylons. Colorstrand Solution Dyed Nylon achieves this by mixing pigments into the molten polymer before it is extruded. In simple terms, this means that the yarn stays beautiful longer - and longer lasting carpet makes less impact on the environment. But that's only the beginning of Colorstrand's earth-friendly qualities.

No water and no steam

Manufactured using a process that consumes no water and no steam, Colorstrand Solution Dyed Nylon is all about sustainability. When fully integrated with carpet manufacturing, the three-color, one-step, compact melt/spinning process represents the most significant techno-environmental advancement in the carpet industry. It's the most pollution-free, energy efficient method out there – using less than 25% of the energy consumed in conventional dyeing.

Green is the color of Colorstrand

Colorstrand Solution Dyed Nylon contains 15% post-industrial recycled content*, meets the USGBC LEED criteria for recycled content credit, and is CRI Green Label Plus certified for VOC emissions. Our 15% pre consumer recycled content claim is also third party certified by Scientific Certification Systems. Besides its excellent resistance to fading, Colorstrand Solution Dyed Nylon also resists crushing, pilling, and fuzzing. When the time finally comes to replace a Colorstrand carpet, it can be recycled through our ReCover program or our Mohawk Greenworks Center.
