We offer cushion products made with 100% recycled content. When you think about the millions of yards of Mohawk carpet installed each year, you can begin to understand the massive dent we're putting in the side of America's landfills. To give you an idea of the scale of our environmentally-friendly initiatives and their impact on the environment, consider this: As much as 200 million pounds of manufacturing waste products are recycled each year to make our Rebond cushion. And that's just one product out of an entire company's worth of eco-friendly products and processes. We mean it when we say we care about the planet. No wonder we're the industry leader when it comes to sustainability and the environment.

  • Approximately 90% of our Rebond cushion comes from materials diverted from the landfill.
  • Approximately 90% of our synthetic cushion comes from materials diverted from the landfill.
  • Our unique Permalink adhesive film makes it possible to divert 100% of old carpet without even lifting it off the floor. It becomes the cushion for the new carpet instead of being sent to a landfill.
• Recycling our waste – Yarn waste is created when we extrude various carpet face fibers including nylon, polypropylene, polyester, and PET. Instead of throwing it out, we recycle this waste as well as other yarn waste that results from the tufting process; then we use it in applications such as synthetic padding.
• Soybean-based carpet backing – BioCel is an award-winning, environmentally-sensitive product that we use in our polyurethane attached cushion carpet backing systems. Containing polymers created from soybeans, along with pre-consumer recycled materials, BioCel continues to win accolades from the sustainable design community and is available as an optional backing system for almost all of our commercial products.
